After building a name for itself in the RPG and open-world ARPG genres, HoYoVerse is trying its hand at a more relaxed experience with Petit Planet.
In a press release, HoYoverse said Petit Planet is a “cosmic life simulation” that invites players on a journey fueled by idyllic yet adventurous lifestyles. Players will meet unique neighbours, and uncover surprising wonders, driven by the game’s slogan “Weave Your Dreams Beneath the Stars.” Petit Planet looks to combine creation, discovery and “community-driven experiences”
According to HoYoverse, in Petit Planet, players are entrusted to nurture a planet of their own and gradually form a galaxy by connecting with different planets scattered across the starry sky. The journey begins on each player’s planet, where fuzzy Neighbours can connect their home planets. As bonds deepen and planets flourish, the planet’s vitality—known as Luca—will shape each unique planet with different landscapes.
Naturally, like many other life sims, Petit Planet will feature all the gameplay staples players have come to expect from the genre—farming, fishing, mining, cooking, and crafting. Players will also be able to stylize their characters, indoor and outdoor spaces, and with Luca, even the sky, grasslands, and beaches can be transformed into new forms. Players will also get to know their fuzzy companions through conversations, gift exchange and unique interactions that make every character feel distinct.
But the game isn’t confined to just one planet. Players can board their trusty vehicle to embark on a Starsea Voyage, venturing into unknown Islets, discovering rare creatures, hidden recipes,
and forging unexpected friendships across the galaxy. Beyond exploration, players can stop at the Galactic Bazaar, which acts as Petit Planet’s social hub. Players can meet for coffee, attend festival events and forge friendships with other players—turning a fleeting moment into a lasting connection.
Petit Planet is currently confirmed for PC and mobile, with additional platforms currently in development. No release date has been set; however, players can sign up for the Closed Beta at planet.hoyoverse.com.
