Marvel’s new X-Men saga makes major changes to a classic

A comic book universe can only contain so many canonized stories, thus Marvel’s “What if…?” was born. The chance to imagine any farfetched, world-breaking idea hasn’t just been a boon for Marvel Comics writers, it’s also given novelists permission to go long and build an entire plane of the multiverse for themselves.
