Interestingly, Nintendo have said the European price rise does not apply to the United Kingdom and Switch 2 will remain with a RRP of £359. However, a new price for the console will be revealed at a later date.
“We sincerely apologise for the impact these price revisions may have on our customers and other stakeholders, and we deeply appreciate your understanding,” Nintendo said.
This is the only generation of consoles where the price has gone up, rather than down as the hardware gets older, last month Sony added £90 to all three current PlayStation models. The shortage of RAM and other components is a major factor, but as I am sure you are all aware, everything is just more expensive these days due to global factors like tariffs and wars.
