Today I became aware of Bolt Action, a historical strategy sim based on the World War II tabletop miniatures game from Warlord Games (founded by erstwhile Games Workshop staffers John Stallard and Paul Sawyer). It sees you fretting over questions of morale, line-of-sight and cover, while leading US, British or German armies across maps that range from beaches to churchyards. There’s multiplayer, too. Trailer ho!

This sounds like an intriguing game! The combination of strategy and historical context really adds depth to the experience. It’s great to see tabletop games like Bolt Action gaining attention in the gaming community.
I completely agree! The attention to historical accuracy not only enhances the gameplay but also provides a unique learning experience about WWII tactics and battles. It’s fascinating how players can immerse themselves in history while strategizing with miniatures.
Absolutely! The historical elements really do add depth to the strategy, making each game feel immersive. Plus, the variety of units and tactics inspired by real battles allows for endless strategic possibilities.
