Following significant financial difficulties, Nacon decided to sell several of its assets last month. Among the assets put up for sale was the French studio Spiders, known for its work on the Greedfall, Steelrising, and The Technomancer franchises.
Potential buyers had until April 14 to submit their takeover bids. Unfortunately, the Origami website reports that no buyer has been selected. The studio will therefore be placed in receivership and is expected to close its doors in the near future.
Employees will be able to purchase their equipment if they wish. Finally, the staff is expected to gather one last time on April 28, 2026, to pay tribute to Spiders’ 18 years of existence.
