Hit PS5, PS4 RPG Getting ‘Big’ DLC 11 Years After Original Launch – Report

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PS5 final update

It seems the hit PS5 and PS4 RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is the game that keeps on giving. 11 years after its original launch in 2015, it will receive a “big” DLC that is rumored to bridge the gap between the award-winning RPG and the upcoming sequel, The Witcher 4.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will receive DLC 11 years after launch

In a report from Polish publication Strefa Inwestorow, Noble Securities analyst Mateusz Chrzanowksi updated the schedules and budgets for CD Projekt Red. Chrzanowski predicted that the studio is working on a DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will kickstart the marketing campaign for The Witcher 4, as it will connect the last game to the upcoming sequel. He also suggested this DLC would release in May 2026, while The Witcher 4 will release in Q4 2027.

“We expect the next paid add-on (DLC) for The Witcher 3 to be released in May 2026. We assume sales of 11 million copies at $30 each next year. We estimate the production budget at PLN 52 million. The release should kick off the proper marketing campaign for The Witcher 4,” the translated report reads.

From this report, not much else is said about the supposed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC. However, back in June this year, Polish podcasters Rock and Boris had received some additional information about the DLC, as well as the launch schedule.

“Let’s move on to our main topic,” reads a translation of the video (H/T MP1st). “From the information we have collected, it turns out that the announced, mysterious project by CD Projekt Red, made by Fool’s Theory, is a story DLC for The Witcher 3. This is confirmed information from several independent sources.”

“What we know is that this is a DLC for The Witcher 3,” the video continues. “Based on one piece of information, I can’t confirm it any further, but the earliest it could be is in the future year. We also more or less know the order of the releases: first, mods for consoles, then the DLC for The Witcher 3, then The Witcher 4, and finally, the remake of The Witcher 1.”
