Fairgame$ : early testers reportedly found the game boring

The news surrounding Fairgame$ continue to be far from encouraging. This title, developed by Haven Studios (which is owned by PlayStation), has reportedly shifted since its announcement in 2023 from a multiplayer heist game to an extraction shooter (https://news.instant-gaming.com/en/articles/19084-fairgame-has-reportedly-become-an-extraction-shooter).

In a new article, Insider Gaming reports having seen gameplay footage showing four teams of three players looting a vast mansion. Fairgame$ is said to resemble Call of Duty and The Division in terms of its graphic style and movement mechanics. Grappling hooks and wall-running are reportedly part of the gameplay.

Unfortunately, the formula isn’t convincing at this point. On the Discord server dedicated to testing the game, a large number of negative comments have reportedly been posted. Players have reportedly criticized the class system, the NPCs, the movement mechanics, and many other aspects. Other testers played a few rounds before quitting, as Fairgame$ seemed « unfinished and boring » to them.

It remains to be seen whether the game will eventually be released or if we’re headed straight to a cancellation.

It’s always tough to hear mixed feedback about a new game, especially during testing phases. Hopefully, the developers can take this feedback into account and make improvements for a better experience. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
