Christopher Barrett, the former director of Marathon who was fired in 2024, has reached a settlement with Sony

After more than 25 years with the company, Christopher Barrett, who was director of Marathon, was fired by Bungie in 2024.

He then sued Sony, accusing the company of defamation and wrongful termination. For its part, Sony claimed that Barrett had sent inappropriate messages to female employees. In any case, Barrett refuted these allegations and asserted that his former employer had fired him to avoid paying him a $45 million bonus generated by the studio’s acquisition in 2022.

Finally, Christopher Barrett announced this week on X that the case has been settled. He managed to reach an agreement with Sony to resolve the dispute. We do not know the details, but the developer’s name has been added to the credits of Marathon.
