Blindfire goes Free-to-Play and changes its name

Released in early access in October 2024, Blindfire is a multiplayer FPS in which players battle in near-total darkness. Unfortunately, the somewhat original concept wasn’t enough, as Double Eleven quickly halted development of new content.

On May 7, the game was renamed Blindfire: Lights Out. Among other changes, it is now free-to-play. The developers have also decided to keep the servers running indefinitely.

« We have decided to make it free to play and keep the servers online indefinitely. We are doing this because we believe games are art and they deserve to be preserved. We refuse to bury what we built just because things didn’t go perfectly. We are keeping it alive because we are proud of it. You won’t see adverts or marketing campaigns trying to drag you back in. This is just a gift to those who want to see what we created. »

Finally, the latest update released this week added two new weapons and an audio aim assist system.
