It took a long time for the RTX 50 series to be fully adopted by gamers. Indeed, Steam’s April 2026 hardware and software survey reveals that the series is now well established among gamers.
The RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 rank fifth and sixth, respectively, among the most widely used GPUs by players on Valve’s platform. Previously absent from the list, the RTX 5050 makes its debut in the rankings for the first time with a relatively low adoption rate of 0.17%. Meanwhile, the RTX 5090 reaches 0.45%.
Of course, this ranking is still dominated by the ever-present RTX 3060, which is expected to make its big comeback in stores as early as next month. The RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Laptop GPU round out the top 3.
