If you’re a fan of Valheim andThe Legend of Zelda, more specifically, Breath of the Wild, then you might want to check out this new survival RPG.
Now hey, listen. We all know and love The Legend of Zelda – one of the most popular and iconic action-adventure RPGs of all time, ever since it made its debut on the retro NES in 1986.
My personal favourite The Legend of Zelda games are A Link to the Past (SNES), Ocarina of Time (N64) and The Wind Waker (GameCube).
But for some, they may have been introduced to the series on the Nintendo Switch with the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
As for Valheim, developed by Iron Gate Studio, this is a relatively new game that was first released on PC in 2021 and then on Xbox in 2023 as an early access title. You may also be pleased to know that it’s coming to PlayStation 5 this year.
Valheim is inspired by Norse mythology (so it might be one for God of War fans, post 2018), and is a survival RPG that requires players to scavenge for resources, build snazzy forts and battle mythical creatures. Also, if you’re somewhat sociable, you can also mingle with other online players.
That all being said, if you just so happen to be a fan of both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Valheim, then this upcoming survival RPG might be your cup of tea.
The game in question is called Echoes of Elysium, developed by Loric Games, Inc., and published by Snail Games USA.
Echoes of Elysium Looks Like It Could Be a Blast!
“Have you ever wanted to live on an airship? Now you have to. The serene skies of Elysium are both beautiful and deadly. Custom build floating fortresses, recruit your crew, and fight land and skyborne mechanisms in a paradise, filled with secrets, that wants you out,” reads the description of the game on Steam.
Sounds like your kind of thing? Check out the trailer below! I love the ship designs, big Assassin’s Creed IV energy.
“Play solo or with up to six players in online co-op. Uncover the mysteries of a forgotten paradise where soul-powered clockwork beasts lurk in every corner. Gather resources, craft tools and airships, and survive across fractured biomes filled with danger and discovery.”
Judging by the gameplay trailer, Echoes of Elysium has tons of exploration, both on land and in the skies. Fun combat and vibrant visuals.
It looks like it could especially be a blast when playing with friends.
The game isn’t out right now, but it is coming to Steam as an early access title very soon. The current release date for Echoes of Elysium is Tuesday, 27 January 2026.
