Even though we’ve only just seen Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie in theaters, Nintendo and Illumination seem to already be working on a new project for the big screen.
In fact, in a document listing its upcoming releases, Universal Pictures has mentioned the existence of a third project between the two companies. The release date for this currently untitled feature film is set for April 2028.
It could very well be a new Mario movie or a possible spin-off. Recent rumors have specifically mentioned an adaptation of Luigi’s Mansion.
