The Tencent-backed Ubisoft subsidiary begins operations today as Vantage Studios

Announced last March, Ubisoft’s latest subsidiary, largely financed by Tencent starts its operations on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Charlie Guillemot, son of the French publisher’s CEO, has been appointed co-CEO of this division.

Employees reportedly chose the name Vantage Studios for the famous subsidiary. It encompasses teams based in Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia. In addition, it will manage the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six licenses while remaining part of the Ubisoft group.

Tencent holds a 25% stake in the division and will act as an advisor. Co-CEOs Charlie Guillemot and Christophe Derennes will be in charge of creative and commercial decisions.
