Stardew Valley Rival Drops Free Sample On Steam, 10/10 Ratings Flood In

With Update 1.7 in development, Stardew Valley continues to keep players engaged and constantly coming back for more.

An impressive 10 years on from its launch though, you may find yourself craving a change of scenery from time to time which is where Suncraft comes in.

Developed by Spicy Tuna Games, Suncraft is a charming upcoming pixel-art adventure title due to launch on PC in July of this year.

An exact release date is yet to be pinned down but in the months preceding July, you can sample a portion of Suncraft for free thanks to a delightful new Steam demo which has now drawn rave reviews.

Suncraft describes itself as a “cosy pixel art adventure focused on growth and restoration”.

Players will “step into a peaceful world where every tool you craft brings a new spark of life to the village”.

“Settle into a relaxing rhythm of progress as you watch the village return to the glory it once had,” the synopsis teases.

In order to unlock the full array of biomes, players will need to craft and build workstations that’ll allow them to refine resources which can then be used to restore the land.

There’s a charming story on offer as you help and befriend the game’s various NPCs, plus you can automate some of your resource production in order to make your life easier.

As for what’s on offer in the demo, devs note that it’s “designed to give you a full experience of the atmosphere and core loop”.

“Settle into a relaxing rhythm of progress and start your restoration journey at your own pace.”

All progress you make will carry over should you pick up the full version of Suncraft so be careful what you build and where.

You don’t want to rebuild the village in a haphazard fashion in the demo only to be stuck with your lazy efforts further on down the line.

The Demo’s Launch Has Been Followed By Rave Reviews

At the time of writing, Suncraft boasts a perfect score of 100% of PC storefront Steam with players falling head over heels for this new cosy offering.

“Playing Suncraft, you’re immediately immersed in a quiet land where you learn, discover and build your way throughout the world,” began one happy gamer.

They continued, “There’s no complicated plot or intricate multiverse, you just focus and move on by crafting materials, building structures and completing missions. I had this game on my wishlist for some time, and the demo was finally released. It did not disappoint! Can’t wait for the full release.”

Another remarked, “Addictive and cosy game! Really love the pixel style games. Can see myself sinking hours into this when it fully releases!”

One review read, “A cosy crossover between Factorio and Stardew Valley. The automation-and-upgrade satisfaction of one, the warm village pixel-art comfort of the other. Didn’t know I needed both at once until I played this.”

There’s no exact runtime listed for the demo, but reviews seem to have clocked up anything from 30 to 90 minutes which is definitely ample time to see if Suncraft is for you.
