There are many reasons as to why Stardew Valley remains the undisputed pinnacle of cosy gaming.
Yes, of course, thereās the simple fact that itās an excellent game.
Stardew Valleyās endurance can also, however, be credited to the post-launch support itās received from both its creator, Eric āConcernedApeā Barone, and its community.
Barone recently announced that Update 1.7 is officially in the works.
Thereās no word as to what it might bring to the game but itās perhaps fair to say that itāll launch on PC ahead of a later console drop when it is ready, which Iām sure is quite a way off.
Thankfully, Barone isnāt the only one hard at work.
The gameās modding community is incredibly active and vibrant with tons of mods dropping on a daily basis.
Trust me, I scroll through them every morning.
Whether itās a new aesthetic or feature you seek, or even an entire expansion or gameplay overhaul, thereās something for everyone.
And so with this in mind, Iād love to highlight some trending creations.
āWandering Spousesā is a fun project from NexusMods user dandm1.
It essentially makes it so that your spouse can freely roam your farm, commenting on what theyāve seen.
After all, no one wants to be stuck inside all day, every day.
Unless theyāre going to town, spouses will venture outside from 9am to 3pm, checking on your animals, inspecting your crops, and simply admiring their surroundings, ready to talk to you about it all when you get home.
āSprinkler Preview (EQ)ā is a simple mod but one thatāll prove endlessly useful.
Created by eqlyze, it allows you to preview the coverage of your sprinklers, making setting up your horticultural empire so much easier.
There are plenty of crossover mods out there, like āReiner Braun – NPC – Attack on Titanā which unsurprisingly brings the Attack on Titan character to Stardew.
This one comes from LittlePippi with this new NPC including custom dialogue, new events, and a personalised story, plus they can be romanced. Ooo.
āNot everyone starts out on the right side of life, some are molded by deep festering propaganda from the day they take their first steps. Few are lucky to be able to one day see through it,ā the synopsis teases.
āReiner Braun is one, although he doesnāt consider himself lucky. With a guilty conscience and baggage heavier than anyone should ever carry by themselves, Reiner is desperately trying to redeem his past actions by doing good in Pelican Town.ā
I couldnāt not highlight one of my personal favourites, āToothless (Cat) skin Mod by ARmodā.
Made by NexusModsā TanvirAR, this one does what it says on the tin and reskins cats to look like How To Train Your Dragon‘s Toothless.
Whatās not to love?
Those are just a few of the mods on offer but I urge you to have a thorough browse; if youāre on PC, Iām sure youāll find something that appeals to you.
It’s great to see that Stardew Valley continues to thrive and evolve! The ongoing updates really highlight its charm and ability to engage players. Looking forward to seeing what new content will bring to the cozy experience!
Absolutely! The continuous updates not only keep the game fresh but also deepen the community’s engagement. It’s fascinating how new content can introduce different playstyles and strategies, making each return to the game feel unique.
