Stardew Valley is Still Getting So Much New Content in 2025

Stardew Valley is Still Getting So Much New Content in 2025

There are many reasons as to why Stardew Valley remains the undisputed pinnacle of cosy gaming.

Yes, of course, there’s the simple fact that it’s an excellent game.

Stardew Valley’s endurance can also, however, be credited to the post-launch support it’s received from both its creator, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, and its community.

Barone recently announced that Update 1.7 is officially in the works.

There’s no word as to what it might bring to the game but it’s perhaps fair to say that it’ll launch on PC ahead of a later console drop when it is ready, which I’m sure is quite a way off.

Thankfully, Barone isn’t the only one hard at work.

The game’s modding community is incredibly active and vibrant with tons of mods dropping on a daily basis.

Trust me, I scroll through them every morning.

Whether it’s a new aesthetic or feature you seek, or even an entire expansion or gameplay overhaul, there’s something for everyone.

And so with this in mind, I’d love to highlight some trending creations.

Wandering Spouses’ is a fun project from NexusMods user dandm1.

It essentially makes it so that your spouse can freely roam your farm, commenting on what they’ve seen.

After all, no one wants to be stuck inside all day, every day.

Unless they’re going to town, spouses will venture outside from 9am to 3pm, checking on your animals, inspecting your crops, and simply admiring their surroundings, ready to talk to you about it all when you get home.

Sprinkler Preview (EQ)’ is a simple mod but one that’ll prove endlessly useful.

Created by eqlyze, it allows you to preview the coverage of your sprinklers, making setting up your horticultural empire so much easier.

There are plenty of crossover mods out there, like ‘Reiner Braun – NPC – Attack on Titan’ which unsurprisingly brings the Attack on Titan character to Stardew.

This one comes from LittlePippi with this new NPC including custom dialogue, new events, and a personalised story, plus they can be romanced. Ooo.

“Not everyone starts out on the right side of life, some are molded by deep festering propaganda from the day they take their first steps. Few are lucky to be able to one day see through it,” the synopsis teases.

“Reiner Braun is one, although he doesn’t consider himself lucky. With a guilty conscience and baggage heavier than anyone should ever carry by themselves, Reiner is desperately trying to redeem his past actions by doing good in Pelican Town.”

I couldn’t not highlight one of my personal favourites, ‘Toothless (Cat) skin Mod by ARmod’.

Made by NexusMods’ TanvirAR, this one does what it says on the tin and reskins cats to look like How To Train Your Dragon‘s Toothless.

What’s not to love?

Those are just a few of the mods on offer but I urge you to have a thorough browse; if you’re on PC, I’m sure you’ll find something that appeals to you.
