Something for the Weekend – 27/09/25

Another month, another game show, and as Dom starts his trip back from Japan and Tokyo Game Show, we’ve got a week filled with news, announcements and previews to digest. Also some big ol’ game releases!

In the News This Week

With a State of Play and an Xbox game show, there’s been plenty going on.

Games in Review & Featured Articles

Some big, huge games in the review docket this week.

And there was a review of the rather good GameSir G7 Pro controller for Xbox and PC, and a DLC review for Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Claws of Awaji.

We’ve got to turn all eyes now to Dom’s previews from Tokyo Game Show. He’s been a busy bee, and already turned out hands on previews for Let It Die: Inferno, the premium roguelike revival of this series, and also checking out Monster Hunter Outlanders on mobile, and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, to expand the spin-off series further.

He also shared a blog about the vibe and atmosphere of visiting Tokyo Game Show for the first time. It sounds… electrifying. Day two, meanwhile, had a guest appearance from spiced ham in a can.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Ghost of Yōtei, Final Fantasy Tactics & Tokyo Game Show.
