Last February, 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced that they had halted development of the Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4. While originally scheduled for October 3, 2025, this version was subsequently postponed to an unspecified date.
However, it appears that Switch 2 copies of the game are circulating. Several internet users have noticed that physical copies were for sale on various sites, including Vinted. One user also shared photos of their copy on Reddit.
We can see the box, the game card, and even a screenshot of Borderlands 4 being installed on Switch 2. This is a rather surprising development, as Gearbox hasn’t said anything about the version since October.
