The PS Store has stealth-dropped a new free PS5 game that comes with quick and easy trophies, including the coveted Platinum. We know these easy trophy freebies aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but games like the newly-released Avatar Island continue to attract players, primarily those who don’t mind a free Platinum.
Dev behind free PS5 game Avatar Island promised 100% trophy completion for all players
Avatar Island is currently only available on the PS5 (sorry, PS4 players), and it takes about an hour to pop all the trophies. It’s basically a puzzle game with AI-generated assets, and players only need to complete one level comprising three puzzles to unlock the Platinum trophy.
Interestingly, developer Valmere Srl told players that they don’t plan to add any more trophies locked behind premium DLC — as is often the case with games like these — so everyone will maintain a 100% trophy completion rate. There will be paid add-ons, of course, but those who don’t pay won’t be punished.
It looks like Valmere Srl is abreast with the trophy hunting scene and decided to take a different route than most free shovelware games that offer easy trophies.
When a player pointed out that games like Avatar Island tend to ruffle feathers for obvious reasons, Valmere Srl responded, “Some people like [these games], some not, and mostly people rate [negatively] if they don’t like [them].”
