PlayStation Plus October 2025 Monthly Games Revealed

PlayStation Plus October 2025 Monthly Games Revealed

Sony has officially revealed during the September 2025 State of Play the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup for October 2025, and it’s a strong lineup. Starting October 7, subscribers will get access to Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and Cocoon.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October 2025

Available Starting October 7

  • Alan Wake 2 (PS5)

  • Goat Simulator 3 (PS5,PS4)

  • Cocoon (PS5, PS4)

Among the three games on offer, Alan Wake 2 is the clear headline and pull if one would either maintain their subscription for October or subscribe as that’s one game that’s perfect for this year’s spooky month.

I can’t say much about Alan Wake 2 personally as I’ve only played the first game, but it was praised across the board as it holds with a Metacritic score of 89 from critics, and an 8.5 from user reviews.

But it’s not all about Alan Wake next month as he does have great company. Goat Simulator 3 is an open world game that’s all about comedy and doing the weirdest thing possible as you play as a goat roaming free. Even the name is hilarious (there’s no Goat Simulator 2).

We then have Cocoon, a critically acclaimed puzzle adventure that pleasently surprised players in 2023 with its unique art style and interesting level designs.

What’s the Difference Between Monthly Games and the Game Catalog?

Just to clear things up, Monthly Games and the games available in the Game and Classic Catalog are different. So, here’s the breakdown:

  • Monthly Games are available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers (Essential, Extra, and Premium). Once you claim them, they’re yours to keep in your library for as long as you remain subscribed — there’s no expiration date.

  • The Game Catalog (and Classic Catalog) is only available to Extra and Premium subscribers. These libraries offer a rotating selection of games, which can be played while they’re available. However, unlike Monthly Games, titles in the catalog can leave the service, meaning you lose access even if you’re still subscribed.

There’s still time to claim the September 2025 Monthly Games, which offers Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder.

The PS Plus Game Catalog was also updated recently this September with nine new games added to the library for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members.

I completely agree! It’s exciting to see a balance between well-known games and lesser-known ones, as it gives players a chance to discover new favorites. This approach not only boosts variety but also supports smaller developers.
