This is what was reported in a recent interview. After climbing the ranks for 32 years at Bethesda, Todd Howard is not your average developer: he has played a key role in highly acclaimed games such as The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Fallout 4.
A former Bethesda executive made some rather alarming remarks about him. Many employees were hesitant to contradict the director, which ultimately undermined his decisions and the quality of the projects. He emphasizes, however, that Howard remains a respected and talented figure, though not perfect.
“Heβs an exceptional person. Is he perfect? No. Does he make every decision perfectly? No. […] I canβt tell you how many times Iβve said to Todd, ‘Man, thatβs not a good idea.’ […] A lot of people were afraid to say no to Todd, and I think that hurt him.”
Although the interview in question is a bit old, it resurfaced in the news when its author shared it again on social media.
