In the days after the Peacemaker season 2 finale, writer-director and DC Studios honcho James Gunn caused some consternation among fans by announcing on the series’ official podcast that there may never be a third season, that Peacemaker’s heartbreaking cliffhanger might just be the end of the show. While he suggested the storyline started in season 2 will continue in his 2027 Supermansorta-sequel Man of Tomorrow, he’s said elsewhere that fans shouldn’t expect the situation Chris Smith, aka Peacemaker (John Cena), winds up in by the end of the season to be resolved in that movie.
