Naughty Dog allegedly forced its developers to work overtime on Intergalactic

Announced a year ago, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has been shrouded in secrecy in recent months. Of course, Naughty Dog is doing its best effort on this new franchise. And the working conditions imposed by the studio have been revealed.

In an article published on Bloomberg, journalist Jason Schreier revealed that Naughty Dog made overtime mandatory for its employees. This directive was issued in order to finalize a demo of the game. Staff had to work at least eight extra hours per week, recording these hours in a spreadsheet. This was in addition to a maximum of 60 hours of work per week.

Schreier specifies that this policy came into effect at the end of October and ended this week. Developers also had to return to the studio at least five days a week, compared to three previously. Speaking anonymously, employees revealed that they were forced to find emergency solutions for childcare and pet care.

It remains to be seen whether this situation will repeat itself until launch. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is currently scheduled for release in mid-2027.
