The future of Yacht Club Games hinged on the commercial reception of Mina the Hollower. With *”very positive”+ reviews on Steam and a Metacritic average of 91%, it is already among the highest-rated games of the year.
In an article published on Bloomberg, journalist Jason Schreier revealed that Mina the Hollower sold 300,000 copies in just three days. Sean Velasco, the studio’s co-founder and director, stated that this excellent result will allow Yacht Club Games to continue its operations without needing to cut costs or seek outside funding.
Furthermore, while he expressed satisfaction with the sales, Velasco emphasized that he is aiming for an even higher figure for his title, considered one of the highest-rated of 2026.
“I wonder why the highest-rated game of 2026 isn’t the one that sold the fastest; so I’m very motivated to close that gap.”
