Masters of Albion: Peter Molyneux wants to redeem himself with his next game

An iconic figure in the video game industry, Peter Molyneux has gradually been caught up in controversy over his unfulfilled promises. Despite this, the English developer announced a new game at Gamescom 2025. It’s called Masters of Albion, a strategy, management, and divinity simulation title.

In an interview with Edge magazine, Molyneux discussed his ambition with Masters of Albion, which will likely be his last game. While Fable, Dungeon Keeper, and Black & White were excellent, their creator acknowledges that they did not necessarily deliver on all their initial promises.

Β« “I think that phrase from Fable – “for every choice, a consequence” – wasn’t sufficiently executed. I think the possession mechanic we had in Dungeon Keeper wasn’t exploited enough. The open-world freedom we had in Black & White was good at first, but I don’t think it was fully accomplished in the end.

Masters Of Albion is an opportunity to mix all of that together. Even if one is an RTS, another a god simulation, and another an RPG, why not mix them all together?

And I don’t know if it’s going to work. This game is very important to me because, to a certain extent, it’s about redemption. Β»

Ultimately, Molyneux promises a unique experience that will combine several concepts from his previous productions. However, he refuses to say that Masters Of Albion will be excellent, so as not to make too many promises.
