How to solve the scarecrow puzzle in Silent Hill f

One of Silent Hill f‘s more perplexing puzzles is the Field puzzle (also known as the scarecrow puzzle), which presents Hinako with a series of clues and a farm full of spooky scarecrows. It’s basically Silent Hill f‘s version of the classic Lost Woods puzzle from The Legend of Zelda series, trapping Hinako in an endless walk through a foggy field until she picks the correct scarecrow.
