GTA 6 Free Alternative Lands on PS5 and PC To 5-Star Reviews

Hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI is rebuilding; the expectation is that the game’s third trailer could land any day now, accompanied by the opening of pre-orders.

We’re just over six months away from GTA VI’s launch date, plus Take-Two CEO has said marketing will ramp up “soon” with the company due to hold its next investor’s call on 21 May.

Take-Two will want to give investors something to be excited about.

There’s also the fact that just yesterday, Rockstar Games began interacting with fans on social media again after years of not doing so … it’s all very suspicious.

Regardless of what sudden marketing comes our way, it doesn’t change the fact that GTA VI doesn’t launch until November.

A worthy alternative has landed today though and best of all, it’s totally free-to-play.

‘Anime GTA VI’ Is Here, A Free Open-World RPG

Neverness to Everness has been branded ‘Anime GTA VI’ online – and you can now try it out yourself.

This “supernatural urban open-world RPG” comes from Hotta Studio, a subsidiary of Perfect World Games.

The game is set within the city of Hethereau where players step into the shoes of an unlicensed anomaly hunter.

“You’ll join the crew at Eibon, a rundown antique shop that keeps the lights on by taking Anomaly commissions from anyone willing to pay,” the synopsis teases.

“Alongside a diverse cast of extraordinary companions, you’ll unravel urban mysteries, ride out adventures full of laughs and heartbreak, and write your own stories in the neon-lit streets.”

The GTA VI comparisons have come from the fact that Neverness to Everness, which also goes by NTE, sees you traverse a sprawling metropolis where you can commit multiple felonies.

All of the usual GTA fare is in there including, of course, grand theft auto itself.

In fact, committing crimes could end you up in jail and if you get caught trying to escape, your time behind bars could be extended by several days.

Players will take on quests, befriend a wide array of companions, take on anomalies, plus decorate their own cosy city abode.

Of course, as a free-to-play title, NTE isn’t without microtransactions with players able to purchase currency so do keep that in mind.

That doesn’t seem to have upset players so far though who have nothing but praise for the title.

NTE is available on both PC and PS5, although you won’t find the PC version on Steam. Instead, the game is available to download from its own website for now.

That means there’s very little review consensus on PC, but a quick trip over to the PlayStation Store reveals that a whopping 75% of players have so far awarded the game a perfect score of five out of five.

That’s followed by 7% awarding four-stars.

It’s early days for NTE so it’s hard to read too deeply into the review consensus as people most definitely need more time with the game to reach a fair conclusion.

That being said, it’s hard to ignore the hype surrounding NTE or ‘Anime GTA VI’, either works.
