Gang of Dragon appears to have been cancelled and the studio closed

Gang of Dragon was announced at The Game Awards 2025 from Toshihiro Nagoshi, the former general director of Ryu Ga Gotoko Studio, who had left Sega to run a new start-up called Nagoshi Studios.

Nothing more has been heard of the game since then,  but the YouTube channel for the studio has been shut down along with the official website. Studio co-head, Daisuke Sato, has now set his bio to “Ex-Nagoshi Studios” and the Google Business listing for the studio, which is based in Tokyo Ebisu district, is marked as “Permanently closed”.

In March this year, Bloomberg reported that NetEase, who were funding the game, refused a payout of $44 million to finish the game.

No official announcement has been made about its cancellation, and the game is still listed on Steam, so it seems they have forgotten to remove it when they closed the door for the last time.
