Game Pass Saw Its “Largest Investment” to Date in 2025, Says ID@Xbox Head

Despite criticism of Game Pass over the years, even from former Bethesda publishing and communications head Pete Hines, it’s grown at an impressive rate. ID@Xbox head Chris Charla told Eurogamer that in 2025 alone, the subscription service saw its “largest investment” yet.

Furthermore, the response from various partners has been very positive. “The majority of partners who’ve had a game in Game Pass want to bring their future titles to the service,” said Charla, confirming deals with over 150 partners to “expand the catalogue.” “We continue to engage with hundreds of partners each year to review upcoming titles.”

“Last year, we worked with over 50 teams to sign their first Game Pass deal. This year marks our largest investment in Game Pass to date, and we remain focused on delivering the most exciting and diverse catalogue in gaming.”

Reports have indicated that Game Pass is profitable, even when allegedly accounting for the revenue lost from bringing first-party titles to the service. Nevertheless, it’s hard to argue with the value of Game Pass. Between Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Gears of War: Reloaded, Grounded 2, and the recent Hollow Knight: Silksong, there’s a lot for subscribers to engage with from this year alone.

The rest of the year looks pretty strong as well, with Ninja Gaiden 4, The Outer Worlds 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 set for the coming months. Check out the latest wave of titles coming to Game Pass for the rest of September.
