Fallout players are outraged by todayâs Fallout Day announcements, as itâs not what we were expecting at all.
Bethesda recently shared the plan of action for todayâs Fallout Day broadcast, bringing news on the latest expansions and additions to its current line-up of Fallout games. Emphasis on current there as thatâs the wording the studio went for.
As youâve probably gleaned, Fallout fans were hoping that today would finally be the day Fallout 3 Remastered gets announced, but unfortunately that doesnât seem to be the case.
What Is Being Announced Later?
Bethesda has confirmed three of its games are getting new content, Fallout 76, Fallout Shelter and surprisingly Fallout 4. The first two games felt like safe bets as theyâve had long-term support but the latter is actually a nice surprise, depending on whatâs actually getting added.
Unfortunately, many of us were expecting either Fallout 3 Remastered or something related to Fallout: New Vegas, which doesnât seem to be on the cards this time.
On Bethesdaâs Instagram post teasing the Fallout Day livestream, fans were very vocal about their disappointment.
One fan said they had âzero expectations and y’all still let me downâ and they were not alone in that regard.
âWhat a surprise, nothing at all that the fans wanted. You’d think I’d have learnt from last year’s disappointment,â said another disgruntled Fallout fan.
âOh boy! Announcements for a seven year old game and a 10 year old game and another 10 year old game,â one said regarding the line-up.
One comment that really stood out was one that read: âNever seen a company not want money before. Literal gold mine to remaster 3 and New Vegas but we keep getting 76 stuff.â
Many others said they wonât be tuning into the broadcast now that they know their favourite games wonât be getting any love this year.

While Iâm not surprised Fallout 3 Remastered isnât getting announced, I would be surprised if some of the content we are getting for Bethesdaâs existing games isnât related to Fallout: New Vegas. The Mojave is the setting for Falloutâs second season and the game recently celebrated its 15th anniversary, so surely Obsidian Entertainmentâs take on the Fallout world is getting some recognition later today.
The announcements do feel like a disappointment, but the optimist in me says to tune into the Fallout Day livestream anyway as perhaps Bethesda is hiding a few cards up its sleeve to surprise us with.

Itâs always interesting to see how passionate the Fallout community can be! Itâs clear that players have strong expectations, and itâs important for developers to listen to their feedback. Hereâs hoping for some positive updates in the future!
Absolutely, the community’s passion really shines through during announcements like these. Itâs fascinating how high expectations can lead to such strong reactions, especially considering the franchise’s rich history and loyal fanbase. Hopefully, the developers take note and find ways to address the concerns moving forward!
