Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is the lowest-rated game by players on Metacritic on the franchise

Although it was pretty well received by the press with an average score of 82% on Metacritic, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been unanimously panned by players.

At the time of writing, Treyarch’s FPS has a user rating of 1.7/10 on Metacritic. This score is based on 1,546 reviews published to date. This makes it quite simply the most unpopular Call of Duty game in the franchise’s history.

On Steam, Black Ops 7 has “mixed” ratings, with only 41% of the 1,474 online reviews being favorable. This is due to a campaign that is quite absurd, to say the least, and the game’s overall formula, which has not changed one iota from Black Ops 6.

Absolutely, it’s fascinating how player expectations can shape their experiences so differently from critics. This might also indicate that the game tried to innovate in ways that didn’t resonate with the core fanbase.
