In a message to The Verge, Kari Perez, Director of Communications at Xbox, confirmed that some subscribers are exempt from the Game Pass price increase. The old rates therefore remain in effect for the time being.
“Our recent Game Pass update remains unchanged. Current subscribers in certain countries will continue to renew their subscriptions at the current price for now, in accordance with local requirements. We will notify you before the price adjustments take effect in those countries.”
Perez did not provide a list of the countries affected.

Is Microsoft backtracking on its new Xbox Game Pass pricing policy? An email sent by the American company raises this question.
Users based in the European Union and other countries have been informed that their Ultimate subscription will remain at €17.99 per month, provided they do not cancel or change their plan. This means that only new subscribers and those who choose to renew their subscription will have to pay €26.99 per month.
A German user pointed out on Reddit that this is also the case with PC Game Pass. The user in question still pays €9.99 per month and was not affected by the increase to €11.99, and the same goes for the increase to €14.99 announced last week.
However, other subscribers have received an email notifying them of the automatic price increase even though their subscription remains active. The reasons why Microsoft is applying or not applying the new prices remain unclear as of now.
