Andy Weir says Martian 2 won’t happen, but Project Hail Mary movie is his next step

Andy Weir, a computer programmer turned novelist, packs his books with real science. He brought that attention to detail to Ridley Scott’s adaptation of The Martian as the film’s science expert, and he’s even more involved in the upcoming adaptation of his 2021 novel, Project Hail Mary. Weir served as producer and science consultant on set for the entirety of the Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi movie.
