This new-gen remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on PC is a feast for your eyes.
Ever since making its debut on the NES in 1986, The Legend of Zelda series has been a blueprint of what the genre expects of the action-adventure RPG. Not only in terms of storytelling and gameplay, but also in visuals.
Over the years, we’ve seen many sequels to the beloved Nintendo franchise, as well as spin-offs, the most recent of which arrives next month with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on Nintendo Switch 2.
In terms of new mainline entries, Nintendo hasn’t announced when the next one will arrive, but we all know it’s inevitable. Perhaps the closest we can get right now is the new-gen upgrades of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch 2.
“Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series,” reads the synopsis of the game.
“Travel across fields, through forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning open-air adventure.”
However, no matter how good the aforementioned Nintendo Switch 2 upgrades may look and play, I very much doubt they’d be anywhere near as good as this overpowered emulation on PC.
Uploaded to the YouTube channel Digital Dreams, powered by a beast gaming PC with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 with lush ray tracing in a gorgeous 8K resolution at 60 frames per second, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has never looked better.
“Nintendo is looking for this guy as we speak,” said Captain-Grizzly in the YouTube comments section, perhaps referring to Nintendo not appreciating emulation.
“I’m convinced I will never see a Nintendo game look this clean and run this smoothly on its native hardware in my lifetime,” exclaimed TurkeyFaceX.
“THIS LOOKS AWESOME!” yelled Wobbothe3rd.
“If Nintendo would just release its games on PC,” pleaded kimpossible4450.
At least officially, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as Tears of the Kingdom, are both available on the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.
In terms of a brand new game on the Nintendo Switch 2, knowing how Nintendo tends to operate, they will probably announce it during a random Direct event on a Wednesday afternoon (maybe).
