Changes just keep coming for Microsoft as it welcomes two new executives to key strategic roles this week. One of them is Matthew Ball, the new director of strategy for Xbox. And one of his ideas is sure to please fans of the brand.
Bloomberg reported that Ball’s ambition is to restore Xbox to its former glory. To that end, his top priority is “to revive iconic franchises and strengthen the Xbox console business.”
Among the franchises that have fallen into disuse are Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, Project Gotham Racing, and Perfect Dark. As for the latter, the game that had been in development since 2018 was ultimately canceled in July 2025.
