According to internal sources, Microsoft is preparing to carry out the largest wave of layoffs in the history of the gaming industry. He adds that “XBOX is going to be supremely unpopular for a very long time” once the details of the restructuring are revealed. Layoffs are also expected at studios that will not be closing following this massive purge.
The American company is expected to finalize its reset plan on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, which marks the end of the company’s current fiscal quarter. The layoffs are therefore expected to be announced in early July.
