Cold Symmetry and Playstack have released a the first long gameplay reveal of Mortal Shell II, along with confirming the process to sign up for the open beta. This gameplay reveal of Mortal Shell II lasts over 11 minutes with a look at three different Shells, Tiel, The Acolyte; Eredrim, The Venerable; and Proxima, The Broodseeker.
Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel to the original Mortal Shell, and it is set in a compact open world featuring more than 60 dungeons spread across forests, temples and citadels. Your character is the Harbinger who has been tasked with reclaiming the blessed Undermether’s stolen Ova from the monsters that guard it. It’ll punish you constantly, but if you can master the mechanics it lays out in front of you then you’ll have an incredible time of things. The lore is a little more obvious that in other soulslikes, and the story it tells and the world it puts you in are both rather enthralling. This is definitely a game that fans of dying a lot will enjoy, but it’s probably not for everyone.”
