The studio also stopped short of saying where inside Wiami the Satin Passage is located.MILD, not WILDThat pricing choice is significant. Season Zero gear changes hands for MILD — the currency players collect on runs alongside Shards — and MILD carries no market price, unlike the ERC-20.MILD made its debut as a mock currency inside the Midnight in Wiami racing mode, where it served as a testbed for the rewards system. Entry cost 1 MILD, a 10% bonus went to winners, a 15% reduction hit losers, and WROOM took a 5% commission. Coins spawned along the tracks too, but players only kept their haul if they finished the race.Settlement remains WILD’s job. Players head to the Neural Station with Shards, put up a small amount of WILD and extract onchain gear out of Wilder Packs. Every WILD spent across the ecosystem is split 80% burned automatically, 20% to the DAO treasury.How Season Zero worksReleased June 26 by way of the studio’s ZINE publication, Season Zero: The Invasion introduced the first structured gameplay loop to Wiami.The loop pits players against invading forces while they extract MILD and Shards. Push further into a run and the rewards climb — so does the risk. Death in Wiami wipes out a player’s equipped loadout, whatever WILD they earned in the session and their gear.Hence the appeal of a resale market. Loot that a player would rather not drag into a high-threat zone can go into City Storage in Agora Alley — and there’s now an alternative: put a price on it and sell.The project has dabbled in gear trading before. At the launch of open world multiplayer, Wilder World detailed a player-to-player Bodega Market where gear was swapped for WILD or other onchain items. Its NFT marketplace is a separate venue, accepting ETH and WILD, with the caveat that WILD purchases require the item to have been listed in WILD.Where the game standsTrading arrives on the heels of game release 0.11.1, which added Packs Opening to the client. Opening a pack in-game triggers an onchain reveal that mints three NFTs — one apiece from Avatar Accessories, Weapons and Attachments, and Wheels Modifications. Combat, navigation, environments and driving all saw changes in the same release.Multiplayer landed earlier this year, marking the first time players occupied the same space simultaneously. It brought Team Breach events with loot scaled to squad size, Forum Agents stationed at major city intersections, voice chat and vehicle upgrades. However much a Season Zero loadout is worth, that value lives inside Wiami.
