Where Winds Meet Crosses 7 Million Pre-Registrations Ahead of Next Week’s Global Launch

Releasing a new free-to-play action RPG in the already crowded gacha space is rough, but Everstone Studio’s Where Winds Meet is seeing a positive response ahead of launch. The Wuxia-focused title has already crossed seven million pre-registrations ahead of its worldwide release on November 14th.

When it first launched in China for PC, it had over three million downloads in four days. While pre-registrations may not directly translate to active players, the current total represents a high level of interest.

Published by NetEase Games and coming to PS5 and PC, Where Winds Meet follows a nameless hero during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period in tenth-century China. While lawlessness and chaos abound, players start their journey by exploring the world and developing their martial arts skills.

There’s much more to see beyond combat, though, from wildlife to side activities such as sumo wrestling (which you can learn more about here). Check out our preview of the final closed beta test on why it’s unlike anything you’ve ever played.

It’s definitely impressive! With such a large number of pre-registrations, it will be interesting to see how the game differentiates itself in the gacha genre. The unique art style and combat mechanics might just give it an edge in attracting players.
