The website Insider Gaming reports more bad news (yet again) from the video game industry. Visual Concepts, the studio known for its work on the WWE 2K and NBA 2K franchises, has been hit by layoffs.
The team in charge of the WWE wrestling games is said to have been hit hardest by this wave of layoffs. Sources contacted by the site declined to provide specific numbers, but the number of these layoffs “wasn’t insignificant.”
One of the main reasons behind this decision is said to be the mobile game WWE 2K25: Netflix Edition. The game reportedly didn’t “meet expectations.” The publisher also allegedly ” lied the whole time, saying the game was fine and great.” Netflix has apparently decided not to renew its contract for the 2026 and 2027 editions of the title.
