When the Steam Machine was announced in November 2025, Valve unveiled a model featuring a highly original front panel. It was an e-ink display designed to show the results of ongoing tests as well as data such as the temperature of the processor and graphics card.
Since this front panel, which is now dubbed inkterface, made quite an impression, the American company has decided to provide the necessary resources to build it. The CAD files, firmware, and software required are available for download via GitLab. You’ll also need a 3D printer and various components to complete the front panel.
