Forbes reporter Paul Tassi has provided additional details. According to him, this perception, linked to a hypothetical desire for revenge on Bungie’s part against Sony, stems primarily from PlayStation employees. No one at Bungie wants to take on the Japanese company. Destiny 2 was simply costing more than it was bringing in, and too many people were working on it.
Furthermore, Sony isn’t blaming Bungie for its recent initiatives in the GAAS space either. Finally, the Destiny 2 servers will not be shut down, although no further updates or even hotfixes will be deployed.
