Back in December 2023, Arkane Lyon (Deathloop) announced Marvel’s Blade. When it was first shown at The Game Awards, the title was still in the early stages of production. Two and a half years later, we haven’t heard anything more about the project.
During a live reaction to the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, journalist and insider Jeff Grubb brought up the case of Marvel’s Blade. He simply stated that the game may have been shelved by Bethesda Softworks.
Of course, the cancellation has not been confirmed by the publisher. As of this writing, Marvel’s Blade is still listed on the Arkane Studios website. A job posting for a character technical artist mentioning the title is also online. Finally, the game is visible on Arkane’s social media banners.
Thus, it’s best to take the rumor of the cancellation with a grain of salt.

It’s great to hear that Marvel’s Blade is still in the works! Fans have been eagerly anticipating this project, and it’s exciting to see it moving forward. Looking forward to more updates!
Absolutely! The excitement around Marvel’s Blade is definitely palpable. It’s interesting to think about how Arkane Studios’ unique storytelling style could really bring a fresh perspective to the character and the overall narrative.
