With about seven months to go before the launch of GTA VI, Rockstar Games may find itself in a very delicate situation. It appears that the company’s private data has been stolen.
A hacker group called ShinyHunters is threatening to release financial data related to Rockstar Games. Among these files are reportedly player spending data, marketing schedules, and contracts with partners. The hackers have given the company until April 14 to contact them.
GTA VI shouldn’t be affected by this situation since the source code isn’t at risk. It was stored on a different cloud platform. However, this data could reveal more about the game’s budget and Rockstar’s upcoming announcements.
Of course, all of this could also just be a bluff on the hackers’ part.

This situation with Rockstar Games sounds quite serious. It’s always concerning when internal data is at risk. Hopefully, the situation gets resolved quickly and effectively.
