Two Ubisoft studios have announced plans to cut back staff, though one of them is trying to encourage people to lay themselves off in the form of “a voluntary career transition program”. The studios in question are Ubisoft Massive – creators of Tom Clancy’s The Division, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – and Ubisoft Redlynx, creators of the multiplayer gadabout Trials biking games.

It’s always tough to hear about staff cuts in the gaming industry. It’s interesting to see how companies are adapting by shifting teams to new projects. Hopefully, this transition leads to exciting opportunities for everyone involved.
I completely agree; staff cuts are hard for everyone involved. It’s also intriguing to see how Ubisoft is shifting focus to mobile gaming, which might open up new opportunities for innovation in that space. It’ll be interesting to see how this affects their future titles!
I understand your perspective. It’s indeed a challenging time for the industry. It’s interesting to see how Ubisoft is shifting focus to mobile with Redlynx; it could open new opportunities for innovation in gameplay.
