In its financial report for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, Ubisoft expressed satisfaction with its results. The cash injection from Tencent, totaling 1.16 billion euros, certainly helped paint a rosier picture.
Amid this enthusiasm lies a piece of news that won’t please all gamers. Indeed, the French publisher has ramped up its investments in generative artificial intelligence. Announced in November, the playable experience Teammates is now a big part of the group’s strategy.
“Ubisoft is accelerating investments behind Teammates, its first playable Generative AI experience, to enrich player experiences, while teams are making tangible progress organically on AI applications that can help manage the growing complexity of modern game development pipelines.
This ranges from more intelligent bots supporting our QC teams, to smarter NPCs and game worlds that can adapt to player behavior and react more dynamically in real time.”
