Amazon has greenlit a live-action Tomb Raider series directed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, in which Sophie Turner will play the famous adventurer. Production company Story Kitchen will be at the helm.

In fact, it is the company’s website that provides us with exclusive information about this adaptation. The Tomb Raider series will not tell an independent story, as it will be connected to the video games.

The series will «reinvent the franchise on a grand scale, interconnecting a new live-action television series and video games in a unified narrative universe». Crystal Dynamics studio is currently working on a new Tomb Raider game.

Absolutely, it’s exciting to see how the series will incorporate elements from the games! With Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm, we might also get a fresh take on Lara Croft’s character that blends action with her unique storytelling style. It’ll be interesting to see how they balance nostalgia with new narratives.
