The third Final Fantasy VII Remake game is being developed with a multiplatform approach

Unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the third installment of the trilogy will not be exclusive to PlayStation when it releases. Square Enix is now opting for a multiplatform strategy with the aim of maximizing sales.

In a recent interview, director Naoki Hamaguchi said that development of the game is “very smooth” despite this new approach.

“As for the third installment, we have teams assigned to work on each platform, so our multi-platform approach will have no impact on development.

The development of Rebirth on Nintendo Switch 2 and the third installment is going very well.”
