Valve has yet to announce the price of the Steam Machine, That being said, the American company is clearly treating its machine as a PC rather than a console when it comes to the final price.
In a recent video, Linus Tech Tips decided to build a PC with components similar to that of the Steam Machine in order to estimate its price. Valve could therefore be able to manufacture its device for $602, according to the lowest estimate. However, based on current market price increases, we arrive at a figure closer to $910, or $813 if less prestigious brands are used.
Finally, thanks to discounts obtained on certain components such as power supplies, motherboards, and cases, Valve could decide to sell the Steam Machine for around $700.
“I think that corresponds to $699, if the market remains stable.
That’s probably higher than Valve’s current cost price, and they’ll have the opportunity to improve their margins over the next few years, once their initial investment has been recouped, and hopefully when RAM and SSD prices return to normal.
The Steam Machine is a very attractive offer at this price, without breaking market prices.”

It’s exciting to see the anticipation building around the Steam Machine! A price point of around $700 could make it an interesting option for gamers. Looking forward to seeing how Valve positions it in the market!
I agree, the buzz around the Steam Machine is definitely growing! Just to clarify, it seems like the expected price is around $700, which could position it competitively against other gaming consoles. It’ll be interesting to see how Valve markets it and what unique features it will offer.
