Valve has finally provided new information regarding the availability of the Steam Frame and the much-anticipated Steam Machine. The latter got delayed due to the current memory shortage.
In a post about the Verified compatibility program, the American company confirmed that both devices will launch this summer.
“Today we are expanding the Verified program to include Steam Machine and Steam Frame, both of which are shipping this summer. As with Steam Deck Verified, the goal is to help customers understand the out-of-box experience for a given title on these new devices, and how smoothly a game will run with no user work or configuration required.”
When a game is fully compatible with the Steam Deck, it will automatically be compatible with the Steam Machine as well. However, if a title experiences performance issues on the handheld console, it may well run perfectly on the Steam Machine thanks to the latter’s greater processing power.
